ToolProof privacy policy
ToolProof, by Jonathan Senior. Last updated 16 October 2026.
ToolProof does not collect your personal data. There is no account, no sign in, no analytics and no advertising.
What the app stores
Your tools and their details, the photos and documents you add, your stores and lists, who you lend things to, your settings, and whether you have Pro. All of it is kept on your own device. We never see it, because it never reaches us.
Reading photos
When ToolProof reads a serial label or a receipt, it uses the text recognition built into your iPhone. The photo is read on the phone itself and is not sent anywhere.
Reminders
Tag, lend and registration reminders are scheduled by your phone itself. Nothing about them is sent anywhere.
Backup
If iCloud backup is switched on, a copy of your data and photos is written to your own iCloud account, automatically, so a new phone can pick up where the old one left off. That copy belongs to your Apple ID, not to us, and we have no way to read it. Deleting your data in ToolProof removes that copy too.
Reports
Reports you make (a tool list, tools bought, a stolen tools report, a claim sheet) are created on your phone and only go where you choose to send them.
Purchases
Pro is bought through Apple. Apple handles the payment and tells the app whether it is active. We never see your payment details. Purchase status is checked through RevenueCat, which receives an anonymous identifier and no personal information.
